Brainard Lake Winter Lot

Lots of parking!

This is a really convenient and large parking lot. We I tended to hike Blue Lake and we're going to g to park at that trailhead. It was an exceptionally busy summer day, so they were actually turning people back from the main entrance. This lot has restrooms and a TON of parking, and it's free!

The gateway to great winter and summer hiking. In the winter, the trails are especially designed for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. It's very popular in the winter and although the parking lot is huge, it may become full.

It was a trek getting up here, but it was worth it. Clean trail head, well marked and tons of parking. When I went up to hike Blue Lake the road was already closed so I had to walk the road. This area is stunning. I can't wait to come back when the road is reopened. It's worth coming up when this area is frozen and closed, it's stunning. But come dressed right, I saw people in sandals and socks sliding around on the icy/snowy road.
