Trail was a little more difficult than anticipated, but made it through.
nice hiking trail.ocasional pop out areas with views of the divide!
Moderate difficulty. The path is clearly marked. We ran into some volunteers doing some repairs to the trail which was nice to see. We also ran into a moose on the actual path. Luckily, we didn't spook or scare it. Fun hike.
I came across this trail in the book Colorado's Quiet Winter Trails by David Mueller. It was recommended for snowshoers and made for a great first time snowshoeing! It was quiet without much elevation change - an easy out and back. It me excited to start earlier and check out more of the Sourdough Trail which seemed more my typical flavor.
Great hike that leads you up the south Saint Vrain to some amazing camp spots and fantastic waterfalls. This trail has connections with many others that lead you deeper into national forest.
