Update- went to echo mountain again today, a year after this review. Had another great time! The terrain park changed and there are two, one with rails and a box and the other with three medium jumps, which were awesome! I did the night session - 430 to 9 which has lights along most of their tails. The terrain parks are lighted. Get this, the price is only $35 bucks for night session!!! Try to come close to that anywhere!
New this time is the addition of tubing. I didn't tube, but watched some people go down the hill and heard them laughing and having a great time. There's also a new run through the trees, and I mean through the trees. Not the thinned out tail with a few trees run, you will eat sap if you are not advanced enough. I only did it once but that's because if skill level. It was a cool run for sure. Added a couple pictures of the majestic view and the jumps.

Had a really great time at echo mountain Saturday. The main reason I went to echo is because they are open until 9pm. Most places close at 4 or 430pm in Colorado, but echo is open until 9pm with nice lighting. I was not able to get anywhere until about 2pm, so that would have been a huge waste of money for just 2 hours of lift time. Echo is the only resort, especially on a Saturday, where I never waited once for the lift. Understand that echo only has 1 lift and about four runs, not 50 like other places in Colorado. But they do have a decent terrain park with four hip jumps, and four rails. They are very upfront about the terrain is intermediate only, and I agree. Beginners do have a small area, but all the runs are blue mainly due to the steep nature of the mountain. Can't beat the price, they are cheaper than some of the lame places in the southeast. Overall, the lack of crowds, closeness to Denver, lack of traffic, pretty good snow, breath taking view of the mountains, lighted night hours, and definitely the price make echo mountain a great choice. Staff was helpful and friendly. Only reason review is not 5 stars is due to the limited runs. I would go back to echo mountain for sure.

First time skiing with our boys and 20 years for me. Thankful for the beginners hill and the awesome ambassadors. I didn’t see any on the intermediate hill when I was regretting my choice...haha. Great resort...smaller and not so crowded. You’ll need to wait in line about an hour if you get here right at opening. Tubing hill is awesome, great way to end the day! Staff is very nice and their grill has great food! Thanks for a beautiful day!

Fun slopes! For the price it was pretty good. Would consider myself an intermediate skier and was challenging enough. Not a bad place for beginners either. This was my 16 year old sister's first time skiing. The ambassadors were great and often came up and made sure we were still doing well. They provided a ton of helpful tips and explained things very well. The green trails were rough for my sister but she still had a good time. Facilities were very clean and well staffed. Did not eat at the grill but it smelled amazing. There is room in the lodge to bring your own food or snacks which is what we did. Will definitely return for another quick ski trip!

This was our first time at Echo Mountain and we absolutely LOVED it! We did the tubing part which was so much fun! My kids really enjoyed it. We made reservations online, which was super easy to do. I actually liked the fact that you have to make reservations as this definitely helps with it not being so over crowded! Our time slot was at 12:00pm but we got there at 11:30am, we followed the rules on the website, and I'm glad we did, cause it did take us awhile to get our stuff together. The price was very reasonable for 1hr which was all we needed! The ski/snowboarding area was on the side next to the tubing area. Yes Echo Mountain is a bit smaller, but that's what I liked about it, it's not too crowded or busy unlike some other ski areas I've been too, which can sometimes be a bit overwhelming for me. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcomed! Driving up to Echo Mountain was so beautiful! Can't wait to go again soon!

First time here, it's still really early in the season. 3 of 12 runs are open today (Jan 5, 2019) which we knew before we came. This is a small place but it's really clean and the staff is really nice and welcoming. We had great conversation with staff member Liam, food and beer in the restaurant and it was very good and reasonably priced. The runs are hard enough for a beginner to improve but could also be scary for a brand newbie. It's not crowded at all and we rode from 6-9pm. There were a lot of beginners which made me (a beginner) much more comfortable. There seemed to be a lot of medical staff on hand who were caring and attentive and conversational. It cheap fun for a ski resort ($35). Ski conditions were poor as there was very little powder and a lot of ice but it's to be expected since the area hasn't had a lot of snow yet. We still had lots of fun and the staff friendliness made the experience a memorable one. We will be back!
