Beautiful formations and nice park for leisure hiking with the kids. We brought some lunch as well and took our time looking around. A pleasant place to hang out with family.

This is a fantastic park for novice hikers - if this is your first time hiking, take my advice and don’t tackle the “big one” first! Beautiful red rock, lots of wildlife (we saw plenty of mule deer), and easy enough for the whole family. Highly recommended.

Always happy to find good spots to get outside during the off season, and this foothills park is no exception. The fact that bikes aren't allowed helps create a more laid-back environment overall. Keep in mind that dogs are not allowed!!

Tucked away but worth the drive, with scenery to rival Garden of the Gods but much easier parking and smaller crowds. There are several trails that radiate out from the visitor center, including the Fountain Valley loop which is a nice, family-friendly, easy-to-moderate hike with multiple lookouts. We didn't see much wildlife but the many posted signs suggest you might, and also be prepared for mud as the trails aren't paved.

Touch the red-rock geological history of the Rockies. Roxborough State Park allows you to see dramatic red-rock uplifts in dramatic formations that invite you to walk up close and touch that history. You’ll find convenient parking, public rest rooms and unobtrusively marked walking trails. There are also occasionally vistas back toward the skyline of downtown Denver.
