Beautiful views from the top of the USAF academy and Pikes Peak. Trail is short but steep, so be prepared for some elevation gain. Shaded most of the way up until the bolder field just before the summit. Lots of loose gravel, which makes coming back down a challenge.

Great hike! If you want to do the incline, but are scared, start with this one. It's a similar level of incline, but with shade. From the academy visitors center is 1.9m to the top. The trail is a bit hard to find at times, so general rule is stay left on your way up.

This hike is so worth it. It's tough, make sure you have shoes with a good grip, because it is slippery!! But the view!!!! It's incredible ✨✨

Awesome hike! Well worth it. Takes about 1.5 hours up. Loose rocks on moderate grade about 1/2 way up - so be careful. Find some tree limbs for walking sticks especially on the way down. About 3/4 up are Aspens in a saddle between 2 hill tops. The next leg after the Aspens is a steep climb. If you take the blue dot trail it is steep, loose rocks for about the 1st half of the last leg. Go about 100 meters more into the Aspens past the blue dot and the grade is much less and no loose rocks. View from top is inspiring. Take a 1/2 day and enjoy. Bring 2 bottles of water. Better to hike in the dry.

Tough hike/ climb up a craggy peak behind the AFA. Trail is very scenic with a stream and small waterfalls along the way. It measures about 1.4 miles up with around 2000 feet of gain.
