This was an amazing trail to hike! It was very fun and had lots of cool places to explore. It was a good distance and gave the reward of cool views throughout. I would highly recommend coming here if you can.
The washboard dirt road to the parking lot takes you through two rock tunnels and some narrow places where only one car can fit. The main trail itself is well maintained. We did not go far enough to take the other trails off the main one. The views are pretty amazing. We saw several scrawny deer.
Great place to get out into nature without having to drive too far from the city. The trail head has portable bathrooms and a good bit of parking. If you wanna go for a more adventurous drive take the gold camp road to get great views of Colorado Springs
Beautiful mountain hike not too far from town, but tricky road to drive on. Very popular (quite a few people) on the weekend. From the parking lot, there's a wide gravel road for easiest walking. Several bridges trail is a little more difficult with rocks, root branches, and some incline. But the progress markers of the seven bridges is fun, and it is nice to hike next to the mountain stream. Past the 7th bridge, the difficulty increases and number of people decreases, but it is neat to see different landscapes of the mountain and get good views. If you go past the seven bridges, be prepared for loose gravel. If it's the weekend, you might have to go really early or wait for someone to leave to get a spot in the parking lot. We got lucky & a morning hiker was leaving just as we got there. Late April/ early May, the weather was perfect.
Amazing trail in the mountains above Colorado Springs. Getting there is not for the faint of heart. Most of the drive is, at best, a car and a half wide. But, worth the drive. Breath-taking scenery. Can be moderately traveled on the main part. But once you turn off to the actual trail, it thins out.
