Pikes Peak

Just came here to sight see and everything is breath taking (literally). I came here with my partner for a last minute getaway before they started work and we enjoyed ourselves most of the ride up until we hit a peak that made us feel a little uneasy. Other than that Pikes Peak was definitely a must see for us newcomers to the state. Very happy with the photos we took and happy with the experience.

Amazing experience. Would advise bottled oxygen if you have any health or heart issues, and want to ascend to the top at 14, 115 ft above sea-level. Take the Cog Railway if you're not a very good driver, as the mountain roads are paved, but at times treacherous with some serious switch-backs and extreme drop-offs with no return if you make a mistake. But other than that, I'm so glad I did it!!!

The ride was amazing. Breathtaking. They did a phenomenal job upgrading and re doing the cog railway. The top of pikes peak was nothing short of the most incredible view I have seen to date. The railway itself is working and functional however the store front, gift shop and resteraunt at the top of the climb is not. They're close to completion but were not operational at the time I went up there. So if you're headed up the climb or on the cog, I would make sure to check if they're operational, and definitely bring some water and snacks along for the ride. The folks that work with the cog railway are too notch. Knowledgeable and friendly ready to make your experience unforgettable as the scenery you get to enjoy. A chance to meet some pretty neat people, quite a few that are just visiting and enjoying what the Springs has to offer. I assure you it's well worth it, and I promise that it will be a ride you could take again and again.
