Incredible environment, for children, teens, and adults alike. Building future leaders, inspiring confidence and learning a very important art of self defense. From day one not only have the Professor and Christa been welcoming, helpful and accommodating but so have the others in training. A real non ego based atmosphere where everyone lifts each other up, from white to black belts.
Great place to train. The main instructor has a lot of experience in different types of martial arts and I love the way he teaches and cares about his students. I highly recommend this place for the entire family, little kids to adults.
We have been coming to this gym for almost two years now and absolutely love it! Both my kids and my husband attend class and love it! It’s a family friendly, kid loving gym! The owners not only take pride in teaching everyone the proper skills but they take the time to personally invest in each and every person!! We couldn’t ask for a better family to be a part of!!!
This gym makes you feel like family. It is clean, professional and very organized. Great for all kids and adults.
Now it is December 21, 2020 and over 3 years has passed . 56 years old now and I still am as excited about this place as I was last year . I only go approx 4 times a week now and have found a routine that I really enjoy. We have added some great personalities to the gym and I have built deeper friendships with some of the long time MJJ people. I have an old injury from a knee surgery so many years in the past , but I have developed a style that Allows me to enjoy this sport and the people . This Academy has really drawn in some amazing people and I am very proud of who we have here. 2021 is around the corner and I hope to be adding to this post next year. If you are looking to improve yourself to be able to defend your family and yourself , I can promise you this....I would literally destroy the man I was 3 years ago in a fight.
Take care
Well, time is flying by quickly. It is 2019 and has now been 2 years since I started at Monument Jiu Jitsu and I enjoy this place more now than when I posted an old review a year ago. (seems to be a trend as I said the same thing in my last review :) )
I am 55 years old now and I usually make it 4-5 times a week to classes.
Imagine if you could get a hobby that you enjoyed so much that you wanted to do it everyday for 2 years. I can attest that the people who attend each week are getting stronger and leaner every month, as some have made some very visible changes while others feel extremely strong when rolling with them.
We have collected some wonderful new people who have joined this past year and their addition makes the Academy even better than before.
Kudos to the teammates who have made tremendous progress this year!
Old Post - I guess I never Posted below
I signed up July 30th, 2017 for Adult BJJ after being impressed with the owner Professor Tom Lynn. Getting an education in BJJ has been one of the items on my bucket list for 20 years.
All I can share is that this experience has been ABOVE any expectations I had , the students are highly dedicated in their journey and helpful to others in the Academy.
I hope to be here for years to come.
Today is June 12, 2018 and I am enjoying this Academy even more now than I did when I wrote my last review. My weight is down 30 lbs since I started and that is just a bonus to the reasons that I choose to go. I am 54 years old and just love the atmosphere here.
