I started training at USTC in the summer of 2018 about 3 and 1/2 years ago. I was graduating high school and looking for a way to meet more people in my community and a hobby to embrace during college. I have enjoyed my time with USTC so much and am dreading the day I may have to leave.

Taekwondo has helped me grow my confidence through classes and even competitions. When school got overwhelming, I was able to take a break for a couple months and come right back to training. I plan on testing for my Black Belt next spring with my mom who also trains with me.

I highly recommend USTC for anyone and everyone. They have great facilities, instructors, customer service, and are committed to helping their students and families.

Master Lee has generations of experience and commitment to taeqwondo and our community. It’s the character building in addition to precision in movement that keeps us participating and the kids have fun. To see my boys in 3-years so far it is amazing!

We started out with our 5 year old taking a class through Cub Scouts in October and he absolutely loved it. He was able to listen intently and he followed directions very well. After class we spoke to Master Lee to learn about their program. They focus on developing discipline and respect through positive re-enforcement . In addition students are encouraged to take the lessons learned in class to all aspects of their life. They are rewarded for their behavior outside of the class room, school work, self discipline, reading and even practicing at home. This program could not have come at a better time for our family. We are new to the state and COVID has made our child’s first year of school very interesting. This gives our child an outlet from all of the craziness of the year. Dad was able to participate in the classes for the first month. They loved attending together so much they both have continued and were able to join the Black Belt Club. They encouraged me to try it out , so I started started classes in December. This has helped with our families communication skills and our child’s behavior and attention skills. It’s helped my husband’s physical fitness and has been an amazing outlet for him as well. I have back issues and it definitely focuses on building up your core muscles. Which in turn has reduced my back pain. My physical therapist is very happy with my progression after giving me the go ahead to start. Hopefully in a few months I can put up a new update for my progress but I don’t see us leaving this program any time soon.

Our family has been training at the Monument US Taekwondo Center for 18 months and our expectations have been met and exceeded. Master Lee invests in each student and gets to know them and their family. He emphasizes respect and responsibility when working with the students and shapes behavior through communicating clear expectations in a kind manner and through consistent positive reinforcement that builds esteem and confidence. Classes are well managed and currently available in person and virtually. You will be challenged to a level appropriate for you with your progress celebrated regardless of your level. The Instructors and staff are well trained, kind and very professional. Instructors are readily available for supportive coaching and instruction. The staff are very responsive and friendly. Finally, I want to acknowledge Master Lee’s strong commitment to creating and maintaining a sense of community within the US Taekwondo family and our City.
