This is a nice museum, with a lot of good history. Some very nice old artifacts. We enjoyed it, spent about an hour and a half in there.
I recently completed several days at the museum researching the history of the oil industry in Florence. The depth of Florence's rich industrial history was everywhere on display and far exceeded what I had anticipated. The staff's organization of research materials, maps, photographs and newspaper articles - by surname, business name, and address - allowed me to quickly find materials of interest.
The museum staff - Gayle, Marty, Skip and others - made me feel welcome from start to finish, and I left with a deep appreciation for this valuable resource. The museum is well worth a visit - and your support.
You won't be disappointed!!
The charm of this museum is matched only by the fascinating history of the relics on display, and the warmth of the staff working there. Gayle MacKinnon working the front desk was the sweetest woman in the world, she immediately showed us all over the museum and helped us find some research materials we were looking for! The Pioneer Museum is paramount part to the city of Florence and should definitely be visited if you are in the area - the work they are all doing here is so incredibly important. Thank you Gayle and the rest of the team at the Pioneer Museum! We are so grateful to you!
Such an impressive small museum! Wonderful relics, precious historical items and a staff that is incredible! The classes and events offered truly are an excellent addition to this community!
Free but will take donations if you wish. Very nice host.
