Mountain Vista Eyecare and Dry Eye Center

I’ve been meaning to leave this review for years! I started seeing Dr. Place when I was in the fifth grade, but in my mid-twenties I was living in Boulder and seeing another provider there when my vision suddenly worsened and I couldn’t get a diagnosis or prescription that helped. I decided to go back to Dr. Place and she took the extra time with me to run additional tests to diagnose my keratoconus. Then when my insurance wouldn’t cover the expensive scleral lenses I needed, Dr. Place helped me find a solution while I figured out my insurance options. I still drive an hour out of my way to see her, and I can’t recommend Mountain Vista Eyecare enough. The whole team here is so caring and kind! I went in today and figured it was long overdue that I write this review!

Mountain Vista Eyecare made my experience awesome! I went in for a full eye exam and each and every step was great and incredibly informative.

The only thing I would say is that the sales part was a bit much. I said in the beginning that I was only interested in a pair of glasses that would be fully covered by my insurance (I voiced I was trying to be a bit frugal with my spending), and out of maybe the 10+ glasses I was shown, only one of them was actually covered by my insurance. My eyes had been dilated so I couldn’t actually go look/pick out my own pair of glasses.

Overall awesome experience, I just think the sales reps need to take a small step back and listen to what the customer/patient is asking for. I ended up spending a decent amount more than I had wanted to.

The doctors are always so nice and patient with my children. They see all 5 of my children in one day, making it convenient for me, as other places will only see 2 at a time. Great place to go, they are very professional! My 5yr old asks to go back all the time, she loves the eye doctor!

Professional and caring staff. Easy to reach and get in. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Mason, the technician was great with my three year old. She was very relaxed and even seemed to be having fun during her eye exam. He was knowledgeable and explained everything we were doing. Dr DeRose is excellent. I felt very confident with my daughter in her care. Could not recommend this office more highly.

An absolute dream. From check in to getting my 6 year old fit for glasses the team is made of true professionals who know how to work with and speak to children. I don’t know what I was expecting but I left knowing we made the right decision in choosing Mountain Vista as our pediatric optometrist. Amazing team!!
