(April 13, 2017, 10:18 pm)We found Haxton Music Studio 9 years ago because we were looking for a piano experience that wasn't just about learning to play piano. We had tried that, and my daughter got easily bored. She has never been bored with Sonia! Instead, she has developed an incredible love for music. She has explored music through the "lab" portion of her lesson, listening critically, learning theory, and composing her own music. In her lessons, Sonia keeps it challenging, yet fun. In addition to advancing in her technical skills, she keeps things extra engaging by always working on a "just for fun" piece, usually pop music. My daughter has a crazy schedule, so to an outsider, piano may seem like one more activity, but in reality, it has become her getaway. That's what music is all about!

I love that she includes a lab with her lessons where the kids learn more about the different musical time periods, composers, & even compose their own pieces! She has lots of fun events for the kids including group lessons, Christmas caroling and of course the recitals. I highly recommend!!
