Village Gourmet Chinese Restaurant

Some of the Chinese food I've ever had. You wouldn't expect the best Chinese food to be in Westport but Village Gourmet is so special - better than anywhere I have tried in NYC

I don't understand the few negative reviews here I have been going here for close to 20 years hahaha. Super consistent, always delicious. I recommend pork fried dumplings, general tso's, chick broc, fried rice, sesame noodles.

We ordered takeout at least once a week from Village Gourmet from 1998-2008. Can honestly say they never missed. Not once. Superb food. I live in Philly now and I think this place often. I saw their rating was 4.2 and felt compelled to leave a glowing review.

So I have to start by saying that this has been our favorite Chinese food place in Connecticut, every time my family comes from overseas the first meal they always ask for is from this restaurant. And while they stay here we order every other day.
So we have tried many things on the menu and everything is highly tasty! I mean, it keeps you wanting more, even when you have leftovers it tastes delicious the following day.
The sesame chicken is soooo good, crispy, sweet and very well done. The shrimp is amazing too, the one with mango is highly recommended as it has fresh cut mango. We truly love the place for sitting and take out. If you eat at the restaurant, expect high quality service, they just keep you happy from beginning to end. Definitely love this place.
