Marian Coffin’s garden design here at Gibraltar in Wilmington Delaware is romantic, with great statuary, this now feels like a secret garden due to the fact that the house of the estate is unfortunately in disrepair. Coffin, a landscape architect for the East Coast elite including designing the reflecting pool at Winterthur.
The garden is free to enter and a very enjoyable wander indeed.

Beautiful gardens and nice pond. Water lilies were blooming too.
Quite a small garden - no big groups or food allowed.
Bring a book and just sit awhile.
Car lacking limited, but just park on a nearby street, not across double lines though.
So peaceful and beautiful. The pond was gorgeous. We even sat there for a little while just enjoying the quietness and tranquility.

Definitely worth a visit. We can only imagine how beautiful it will look like in a month of time when all the peonies, irises, roses, lilies are coming to bloom. Those are really aged mature plants. We wanted to come back again in the future. The garden is tucked away in a nice residential area of Wilmington.
