Very nice...so refreshing and beautiful.
The Aquatic Gardens are found to the northeast of the main park. If you're driving there you'll find the parking lot on Anacostia Ave. Don't go in on Deane Ave unless you plan to park and walk about a mile to the gardens. When you get to the roundabout take Lee instead of entering the park on Deane. Lee curves into Anacostia. The gardens are worth the trip. The lily ponds are full of flowers and swallows. I also saw small fish, geese, turtles, and frogs. Off to the north is a trail that meanders back about a mile into the marshes. It's serene and a wonderful place for a nature walk. At the back of the pond is a long boardwalk that extends into the marshes several thousand feet with two destination spots that have spectacular views. There is a small bookstore with information about the gardens. The center has restrooms.
Very good place!
