This is an amazing school i loved all my teachers except my 6th grade math teacher he always yelled for nothing only class id get in trouble in and have below an A overall this school is amazing i went there for K-6 and it was some of the best time i have had in school
My son has went here from k-2. Mrs Waterbury (was k teacher now 1st) is a wonderful person and teacher. Mrs Matson (2nd grade) is also amazing. They are great with children and I have been overwhelmingly happy with my experiences with the two. Mrs. Johnson in first grade however was just awful. At first when other parents were telling me she yelled all the time i thought they were exaggerating. When my child was coming home with behavior notes daily I was getting on him everyday about why his behavior had changed so drastically. He started in a different teachers class for first grade but that teacher left mid year which is when he ended up in Mrs Johnson's class. The first half of the year we didn't get a single note home so we thought he was having trouble adjusting. Over time through speaking with others about their experiences with her and first hand observations from other teachers we realized it wasn't our child acting out it was his teacher getting into a job she wasn't ready for. She doesn't seem to enjoy children or even tolerate them. My son was excited to see his old teacher this year and ran up to her excited to say hi and she looked directly at him and walked away. It crushed me to see. If you get her as tour child's first grade teacher I recommend you try switching so you and your child cab experience all the good this school has to offer without your child suffering.
Love the school but don't try to talk to the principal she is no help! P
