Alers is hands down the only legitimate mixed martial arts gym in all of west pines, I’ve trained in other gyms and none compare...the environment is amazing, everyone is a big family and want to help each other succeed. Specially since it’s Jim’s place and he teaches most of the classes he’s passionate about it, unlike other places that just want the big bucks, they hire just about anyone and get new coaches every so often. Everyone teaching at Alers is highly qualified and experienced. This is where champions are made
This place is EVERYTHING!!! Coach Jim and Melisa are wonderful people who make you feel like you are apart of the AMA family. My husband, our daughter, and I have been training at AMA for almost a year, and this place has become a second home for us. Coach Jim is one of the best coaches I have had by far. He is positive, very supportive, and extremely knowledgeable. Another person who should be mentioned is Coach Chris. He is wonderful with the kids, and an excellent instructor with the adults. His Saturday classes are amazing! I have referred AMA to friends, and they have all signed up as a result of the welcoming environment, the people, and the amazing coaches.
Amazing place to train. The training, people and atmosphere is amazing. Coach Jim is an amazing teacher who pushes and motivates his students to gove their best. Ive been waiting for a place like this to open up and i was lucky enough to have it open up right next to my house.
Alers Gym is great. Incredibly welcoming and supportive for all skill sets. I’ve only been going for a few weeks now, but I can tell this place will really help you stay or get back into shape. No pressure, good vibes and great coaching. Oh also great place for couples or families. A few peers bring their kids where they have games off to the side. As well as for the female enthusiasts, there’s as many women as there are men here. Nice to see everyone getting involved in the sport and pushing each other to new levels.
I guess all I can say is this is an amazing place. From the facilities to the location. But what really stands out is the instructors. Jim Alers is so patient with the kids and finds fun ways to teach them and keep them motivated. But his talents are not limited to kids, his adult classes are so good, filled with knowledge and technique. All you need is one class to feel like you belong.
