Roderick's Family Martial Arts

My 13 year old son loves going to class here. He will even get up early on Saturdays in order to attend class. The class instruckion is brisk so that there is never a down time. The instructors are very energetic and positive. The kids stay engaged at all times.
Aside from the normal class schedule, there are regular opportunities for the students to attend seminars on sparring and other focused disciplines.

Highly recommend Roderick’s! All of the instructors are very patient and extremely talented. It’s fun to watch these instructors get know everyone in their program and work side by side with them to make them stronger! My kids love showing us what new things they learned in class and are excited to go every week!

We love Roderick’s! The instructors are amazing!! They know each student by name and know how to adapt to their needs. They have helped my son so much especially with focusing and discipline. Every instructor has taken their time helping my son become a better student. I could not imagine being anywhere else!

Great karate school. Well rounded school that focuses on the art itself as well as physical fitness. Has excellent structure and cultures respect. Instructors are extremely respectful and engaging. Always give the right type of correction whether it’s gentle for the youngsters or more firm with the seasoned students. Great social events outside of classes and offer periodic parents night out for 2-3 hours. Literally can keep going. If you’re looking for a school, this needs to be on your radar.

Sensei Dedra is an amazing individual who exhibits the ability to understand her students and how each of them learn best in order to accomplish personal and program goals, while having fun. Accompanied by an awesome set of instructors, Ms. Zareyah & Mr. Andrew each complement one another to reflect the expectations of Master Roderick and those of the Fleming Island dojo standards itself.

The program teaches students self discipline, self confidence and provides real world self defense tactics to help ensure that each student is ready and capable if a situation ever arises to where they will need to protect themselves. Throw in training in weapons, combat sparring and tournament sparring and you have a really exciting class to watch. Having a daughter, I am pleased with the skills learned and have a better level of comfort knowing that she is gaining the knowledge needed in order to fight an attack by bullies or a would be snatcher. I would highly recommend Roderick’s Family Martial Arts, Fleming Island dojo to any and all individuals who are looking for a fun but disciplined way to learn protection methods, weapons skills and a really cool form of martial arts.
