I cannot say enough about how wonderful the Administrator (Ms. Powell) and Staff are! They treat everyone as family. Paid close attention when we initially viewed the facility. The residents were at peace and were addressed respectfully (by their name). Ms. Powell personally spent a couple of hours visiting with my great aunt, getting to know her, and was able to share details with me about her that few knew. My aunt was happy here but, unfortunately, she passed. If you are looking for a safe place for your loved one, this is the place. Lord knows, I did my research before my selection.
Ive been living at Deerwood Assisted Living for a year now. The new management and staff are friendly and helpful. The nursing staff are attentive and good listeners. It's not easy being here by myself at first, but I have met so many new friends that are great. I enjoy living here. Its nice and quiet here. The avenues mall is very close to here, maybe 5 min. away. This is located near great restaurants in the town center also. This is an older, but well maintained building. I would recommend living here.
I am not a person who usually writes a review but after looking up the phone number & seeing the reviews that were on here, I felt compelled to. I feel that those must be fake reviews, perhaps from past vengeful employees.
A little over a year ago I had to admit my Great Aunt to Deerwood. The staff showed such empathy. They made what was a hard decision into an easy one. No one wants to see a loved one lose their independence. After touring this facility & meeting the staff, I knew this was the place that would feel most like Home. The transition was made simple.
On top of the emotional stress that something like this causes it also can be a financial burden. When you love someone & want the best for them, you can not put a dollar amount on that. When I found out how affordable Deerwood is, that was just the cherry on top.
I can not commend the staff enough for their loving care. They have become our extended family.
