I have been praying for guidance, begging for answers, crying for help. All of those things were given to me today.
From my first initial interaction over the phone with Ms. Dana I felt heard. She listened when doctors didn't. I never settled for the diagnosis of adhd, I was never comfortable with a powerful drug "fixing her". There was nothing broken about her. We needed someone who could teach us how to use her God given tools.
Upon our first meeting, I had answers to questions I didn't know to ask. I had resolutions to what I never knew was a issue. I now have clarity.
My prayers have been answered. I left her office feeling overwhelmingly excited and relieved for the first time in years. Thank you, God for leading us to Ms. Dana and her staff. Thank you!

Mrs. Dana is a true blessing and God sent. She has helped our son with his articulation and comprehension. In less than one year my sons understanding and speech has increased at rate I would have never thought possible even with a specialist. Our son has had private school teaching his entire life until we felt our son would benefit from the help Mrs.Dana. I awoke from a neck surgery in September 2020 with a stuttering and cognitive impairment that we prayed and hoped would resolve itself with Gods hand and time. Well after five months of praying and dealing with the highs and lows of this new condition, my attorney found Dana Merritt to help with a evaluations, diagnosis and long term goal to hopefully get back to a new normal. The city of Jacksonville is lucky to have a award winning, published author and steward of the community to help with these types of injuries and conditions without having to seek help beyond the 904. Ms. Dana is the best!!!!!!! We started seeing her when my son went into kindergarten. He was having a difficult time learning his alphabet and sounds, he is now in second grade and doing amazing. It was a lot of hard work, but definitely paid off in the end.
Now, my 4 year old daughter is having some learning problems. we started her on the early intervention program. After 5 weeks she can count on her own up into the 80's, write her name, that she couldn't do when we started, and say the alphabet.
My daughter is very shy and does not do well with new people, right away she adored Ms. Dana.
Ms. Dana works so well with children, I would recommend anyone to go see her.

Ms. Dana is unique to The Speech Therapy World. She genuinely cares about my Autistic son and has helped him in so many ways. Her Eye Gate or Visual Processing therapy helped him use both eyes together to read and function in the world. Her Ear gate or Auditory processing therapy has improved his understanding of the English language, he is more attentive, and can now process words and meanings correctly. Her Motor gate or Interactive Metronome Therapy has my son running 5K’s and participating in sports, in fact he has multiple Gold, silver and Bronze medals in Special Olympics. This are just a few of his accomplishments since we have been seeing Ms. Dana.
She is personable, honest, highly intelligent, has a sense of Humor and integrity. The atmosphere in the office is of a friendly nature where I forget we are there for therapy. My son looks forward to seeing Ms. Dana every week especially when he wins a medal he can’t wait to show it to her. The office staff is Great and Very friendly. They will bend over backwards to accommodate your schedule and to hers. No waiting for you appointment. She is very prompt and conscious of the time. When she leaves the office for the day her work does not end. She goes home, does research and educates herself on how to improve on these Great Therapies. You will not find a therapist who is as Passionate as she is in her field!
