The atmosphere was nice and cozy even nostalgic. The staff makes you feel like you're family and at home.
We ordered the green fried tomatoes, seafood combo with shrimp & scallops with mac & cheese & potato salad, baby back ribs dinner with fries & corn on the cob.
Everything tasted good and the prices reasonable and the food portions were large and filling.
The food arrived hot and fresh even though it seems they were also putting out several large to go orders.
(May 12, 2023, 6:31 pm)Great little place on the Westside of Jacksonville. I got a two meat platter with ribs and smoked turkey, corn on the cob and green beans. The beans were a little too peppery for my liking but other than that the food was good.

(September 30, 2022, 2:29 pm)We tried this place for the first time today after hearing so many good things about it. It lived up to all the good reviews for sure! I got the Pork Chop lunch. The pork chop was thin but very flavorful. The fried green tomatoes were really good. Fried thin & crispy. The sweet tea was perfect. (And you know how important good sweet tea is.) Also the collard greens (that my husband got) were probably the best I've had in awhile. We will be back to try more things!
(September 26, 2022, 12:27 pm)We have wanted to try this place for some time. We were not sure what to expect, there were so many glowing reviews. But, we have been fooled before. Let me say, we were not disappointed. Everything was delicious. I had the 2 meat combo, ribs and brisket. Even the sides were good. We ordered the fried green tomatoes. They were also quite tasty. We will definitely be back!
