"Pirates of the Florida Coast," lecture by Robert Jacob was phenomenal. Brilliant scholar, 31 year U.S. Marine, Master's Degree, former Educator, Award winning Author, an absolute wealth of knowledge! In my 38 years of teaching, this was the best Educational-informative lecture I've had the pleasure of attending. Please invite Mr. Jacob, Pirate extraordinaire, back to the Tampa Bay History Center. Thank you for presenting him. 👍👏🙌⛵
Very interesting stop on a tour throughout Tampa. One of the better places that gives insight on local history dating back to Native American Indians. Very nice collection of artifacts to see and much to learn. There are several floors of displays so allow for at least 2 hours to look through them!
I could spend hours here just enjoying all the wonderfully curated exhibits. My favorite place to go and veg out. There's plenty of art, culture, history, anthropology and archeology here to satisfy any Intellectual curiosity.
Really cool to see all this Tampa history. I didn't finish elementary school so the learning experience was very surreal for me. I put four starts only because I would like to see an added exhibit for Florida Man. I think he's a pretty big part of our history here. That for me would make it five stars.
Not enough time in the day to view and read about all the exhibits. I showed up at 10am and left at 430pm and had to rush to finish all three floors. I wish they were open two hours longer so I would have not rushed. $15 for an adult admission, not a bad price. Staff is knowledgeable and answered my questions about the exhibits. Clean and the a/c is cold. Not a bad place to come and find out about the Tampa area. Well done.
