Brunch is fantastic- the lobster roll was fresh and had large chunks of lobster. The coffee is great and the complimentary bread basket includes sumptuous pastries. Great friendly service and the Al fresco dining is shaded and breezy. This is a really nice way to start a Sunday!
Seafood quality and location are 5 stars! The views are beautiful on the water especially at sunset. It's a quaint restaurant located away from the highway so it provides a pretty nice romantic and peaceful atmosphere. The service is where there is an issue, but it's not the workers lack of effort. They are severely understaffed. We had a 1:30pm reservation for two people on a Saturday and got there at 1:00pm. We were told we could not be seated till our time because they didn't have enough servers in yet. The restaurant was pretty empty and the bar was slammed. We waited 20 minutes to just place a drink order with the 1 bartender who was hustling as fast as she could. We still didn't get seated till 1:40pm. Once we were at our table the view was really nice and we received our food pretty fast with the help of what looked like a manager. I couldn't even imagine what it would have been like on a Saturday night here if this is how this place is managed. I want to hope that this was not the norm but as a first impression, we had to have a lot of patience to wait to eat lunch and it would not have been as pleasant if the food quality didn't save the experience for the amount of money you pay. There is a lot of competition for waterfront restaurants in the area, so hopefully they can avoid this issue in the future so other patrons don't have this same experience.
We came for brunch & enjoyed our visit. There’s a great outdoor area as well as a covered patio with table service. It’s located directly on the water as a part of the Hyatt hotel, which we weren’t guests at. This would be an amazing place to watch sunset over drinks or dinner. The food was very tasty.
We had a reservation at 5:30 on a Monday and were sat right by a window, which gave us a wonderful view of the sunset. Matt, our server, was extremely attentive and professional, and was an absolute joy to be around. The food was exceptional - we had the charred octopus, oysters, berry salad, salmon, and snapper - every bite of everything was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting Tampa, especially if they can arrive just before sunset. Thank you Oystercatchers for the wonderful experience!
