Amazing! I wanted to taste a wine and Taia was such an amazing employee. Not only was she so patient, but knowledgeable about all the wines and even suggested mixing some wines together to get a new flavor. Needless to say, I purchased 6 bottles and cannot wait to come back for more. Of course we got other handmade treats, including the best ever orange swirl ice cream. Highly recommend if you haven't tried it.

World class - we were here today and had a great morning.

The playground is one of the few we've seen in Florida that is partially covered and offers the kids some shade.
For children under 3 years, the playground is even free.

The tour of the grounds lasted about an hour and was also very exciting. A lot of information about the farm, the individual plants etc.

But the best part was the one with the animals. Absolutely impressive how great they care for the rescued animals here and completely sacrificed for them. There are African crocodile, two emus, raccoons, snakes, a falcon, a
three year old alligator, a parrot and even more impressive animals that are allowed to live here in great conditions.

Great praise to whoever takes care of all these animals!

Even though my family visited outside of citrus season, we had a terrific visit. The tram tour is a “must do.” The tram guide provided a lot of history and facts we would otherwise never know. My children especially enjoyed seeing the rehab wildlife. The gentleman there knew exactly how to address his audience and provided an unbelievable wealth of information. Please donate to this organization! Once we finished the tram tour, we scoped out the wedding pavilion area, the maze garden (which was simple, but still neat as it was like a little secret garden), and also walked to the koi pond. We finished our visit by ordering lunch from the cafe—the ladies that run it were very friendly and the food was mighty tasty. My dad raved about the Cuban sandwich. I seriously was wowed by my hot dog. We polished off our meal with swirl ice cream…save room…the portion size is huge! Mrs. Mixon, unbeknownst to us, was also greeting diners during lunch and was very friendly and down to Earth. All in all, I would rate Mixon Fruit Farms a “must do” for those visiting FL, or for those wanting a taste of “old Florida.” We hope to visit again when citrus is in season to see all the machinery in action, too.

Mixon Fruit Farms is a really awesome place to explore and discover. If you're a family with kids you will love it. Take the Tram tour, see the Florida wildlife rescue area. They have an large gift shop with lots of goodies. Their juices are delicious. And Ice cream!!! The owners are wonderful and open their hearts to all that visit. They are also having fun children events... make sure you check their events calendar. We had so much fun filming an episode of our Planet Peek-A-Boo show called "Let's Move It" with Lillaquin. Take a peek.... We really do love Mixon Fruit Farms.. Check It out for yourself. #planetpeekaboo

My daughter and I had a fun day experiencing the market (they have samples for wine and juice), the koi pond (they have bags you can purchase in the market, OR machine at the pond that accepts quarters), the animal tour (can you get education on the animals, and get to hold a live gator) and the trolley ride which is open air....

A BIG shout out and thank you to Nixon farms and Manatee county library for partnering together in offering two free passes, you can check out from the library (must be a Manatee co resident, may be a wait list and limited to 2 admissions for the trolley/which includes the animal tour)

It wasn't crowded on the day we visited so we felt like we had personal tour and overall the experience was great, very nice family run business.
