Best food, service and value on Longboat Key! Spectacular entrees, soup, drinks and desert

I can't think of a more pleasant dining option than Hugo II, perfectly situated on the grounds of the wonderful the Cedars Resort on Longboat Key. Very cozy and friendly atmosphere, very attentive staff and exemplary, authentic German quisine. Hugo II came highly recommended, and they did not disappoint. Denisa took care of us, fielded our inquiries on appetizers and main courses, and made excellent recommendations. If you have the opportunity to drop in for an awesome dinner, dessert and cocktails, Hugo II is a must.

We found a hidden gem of a restaurant called Hugo || on Long Boat Key. Our meals were fresh and very flavorful. The service was outstanding and the desserts and drinks were great. Can't wait for a return visit. We definitely want to try the breakfast at some point!

Food amazing, service amazing,little restaurant with great atmosphere.
Great curated menu, do yourself a favor and have the pasta frutto di mare or the goulash. You'll thank me later...for dessert the affogatto or the mascarpone with strawberries.

This place is a hidden gem. I am visiting from Miami and wanted to take my parents somewhere new but cozy. This place is exactly that. It was recommended to us, and definitely worth the visit for the atmosphere and food. The menu changes every 2 weeks, and brunch is supposedly the best in town. We went for dinner tonight and the apps, wine and food was all great. Desert was spectacular as well. It’s run by a daughter and her parents, very family oriented and eating there felt like I was a guest in their dining room. We’ll be back for sure, and my parents will probably become regulars. Don’t miss this place, if you’re nearby.
