Traditionally I am skeptical of veterinarians, primarily because of the cost and the need to trust the vet's opinion/diagnosis and treatment. This past summer one of our [3] dogs had an issue that had to be surgically address by a vet. After doing research, we brought him to Dr. Toledo and Southland Animal Hospital.

For those that do not speak Spanish it can be difficult navigating the language barrier in Miami, but this was not the case at Southland. The staff is attentive and friendly, always asking about our other dogs when we bring one of our dogs in.

The facility is older but seems to work and is likely a contributor to the affordability of care. Since our first visit, we have had two surgical procedures, shots, an ear infection, and high intraocular (eye) pressure treated by Dr. Toledo and his staff. While dental care is costly in general, we have been please with the cost and quality of care at Southland.

I would prefer to be inside with my pets but with COVID, I can understand the reason for owners staying outside and talking with Dr. Toledo on the phone. The new app that the clinic is using is great and reliable thus far making it easy to request appointments, request medication refills, and look at my pets medical records.

They are very pleasant and professional. We have boarded our fir baby numerous times. They really take excellent care of him. He is eager to go with them. We’ve used other places with other dogs and this one is the best!!! You can leave your pet and have peace of mind that they will be cared for like family!

For 12 years since coming to Homestead I have been a client of another animal clinic. However, on 2 November my dog had an serious emergency. He manager at the other clinic turned us away as she said all their appointments were full. I went to Southland even though I had never been there. The lot was full of regular clients but Dr. Toledo immediately took my dog in and proceeded to treat him. It took treatments over 3deays but Dr. Toledo saved my dog’s life. I highly recommend Dr. Toledo and Southland.

While I don't have any photos my experience with this hospital, it was Picture Perfect from Day 1. Our brand new 2 month old puppy ( who was gifted to us) apparently was having a diabetic episode. After trying two different overnight animal hospitals, to no avail, we were forced to wait until regular business hours. I called Southland Animal hospital, whom was referred to me by a friend. Alicia answered when I called and I guess she could here the desperation and despair in my voice. And as a courtesy, she allowed us to bring our puppy in. I was too elated! Everyone we encountered that day was happy and their love for animals was very evident. Dr. Toledo(the Vet) called me and advised me of what could have been wrong with our puppy and our next steps. I am a very particular and detailed oriented person, and Dr. Toledo left me without any questions. His explanation was clear and precise and he was extremely knowledgeable. Then the day after, Southland called to check on our puppy...that made my day. In my opinion, it is so hard to find good customer service that yields true customer satisfaction, but Southland has certainly achieved that! I was and still am overly satisfied with the quality and character of the staff and services.. Everything and everyone has been pleasant from start to finish....and our puppy had his second visit last week. I hadn't left this review. I made Southland Animal Hospital our permanent Vet of choice after the first visit and I am so happy about this decision! Thank you everyone!

I could not be more pleased with Dr. Toledo, Eva and staff. We have been coming to Southland Hospital for 11 years now but this week really showed what a top notch staff they have. Our dog was bit by another dog and the level of care they took to make sure all of my concerns and questions were answered was outstanding. Our dog is now on day 2 of healing and already back to her normal happy self. Thank you to the entire staff of Southland Animal hospital but especially Dr. T and Eva who treated us like family.
