Fruit & Spice Park

Unfortunately, the restaurant is currently closed, and we did not take the tour, but we walked around and it was a really neat experience. They have dozens of different fruit trees and several spots along the way where you can try fresh and sometimes highly unusual fruit.

My tip would be to walk the grounds and not to just stay on the path (you are walking on a lawn off the path, not woods or anything.). We found a number of interesting trees and bushes this way, such as blue grape. They also had a number of Surinam and Barbados Cherry trees off path. We were strolling to get an idea of how large and how well the various trees and bushes grow. We were looking for ideas of what we might want to try in a container or our yard.

This place is amazing! The park has a lot of tropical fruit and is well maintained. It costs about $10 and there is so much to see, plus you can eat any kind of fruit you find on the ground.

We went a little after 4 o’clock (closes at 5) and honestly didn’t expect to be able to walk the land, but I still wanted to ask because it’s my favorite place in Miami. They let us in, were super polite & this was my best experience visiting. The woman working gave me an avocado to take home as we were leaving. It’s my birthday today and she didn’t even know it, and it honestly made my entire day. The same guy is always working there which makes me feel like he really knows what he’s talking about. He’s so polite, as well as the other staff members. This place is beyond kid friendly and a foodie heaven. I’ve never had a bad experience here
