Crandon Park Mahogany Grove Group Picnic Area

We love this beach. There was a bit of seaweed but once you step over it the water was clear and the perfect temp. We did see a couple Portuguese man o' wars, so watch out! If you're willing to spend the money, you can rent out the chairs and umbrellas. You can even order from the OpenSeas Cafe and they will deliver it to you! Good menu options for food and drinks. Lots of big birds and iguanas in the area. Clean beach and picnic areas. We didn't make it to the Lighthouse, it's only about 15 minutes away driving. Will definitely be coming back!

Is a very lovely and relaxed place to just sit and watch the sunset, maybe have a beer. Really loved walking along the beach and listen to the waves!

Nice and secluded area. The seaweed was kinda making the beach pretty dirty though. Spent the day napping in the nice chairs.

Crandon Park Mahogany Grove Group Picnic Area is a great place for a family or company picnic. It has 12 very large covered picnic areas that are available to reserve for rent by contacting the park office. And the park posts a printed sign on the shelter sign with date and reserved name. If the shelters are not reserved they are open for public use. They all have large barbecue grills and the larger shelters have two large grills. The shelters are also surrounded by dozens of open air picnic tables with smaller metal barbecues scattered all around the grove picnic area for smaller picnics and groups. A beautiful place very close to the beach for a picnic large or small. Shelters are numbered mostly from south to north. Shelters 1-6 are located near the south beach parking lot and by the Carousel (Shelter 3) and while Shelters 7-12 are near the Mahogany Grove Group Picnic Area sign closer to the the north parking lot.
