The everglades are really a fascinating place. Shark valley delivers with a lot of birds, gators and CROCODILES!!! Yes, there are 3 CROCS in the park and managed to see one through the team tour (although not super common).
Visited after Thanksgiving, the park was still abnormally flooded. Did the team tour. Next time I'll run the trail.
Have fun!
Definitely worth taking the tram. Make sure you look online to book it ahead of time. Bring rain gear if there's any chance of rain because you will get wet on board. Nice wildlife spotting along the way, and the guides teach you some interesting stuff along the way.
To be honest, I was looking for alligators, I’ve been a couple times, and I haven’t seen alligators, yet, and the tower is close to the top, there’s not much to do around only the airboat. But if you’d like to bike, this is a good option.
You take the golf cart from the visitor center and the ride is phenomenal - the closest you can get to Everglades safely.
You see turtles, snakes, pythons, birds and alligators from your golf cart ride.
The photo ops at the observation tower are magnificent 360 degree views.
Great visit! I do recommend making sure you check to see if you qualify for a life time pass or other cheaper park option (senior, military, student etc). Plan to rent a bike ($25). The path is black top and while it's an easy walk or ride. Much cooler and better to ride the 15 miles. Lots of wild life and very unique scenery
