Great place to see South Florida wild life(guaranteed). Not for toddlers unless strapped in a stroller. Perfect for out of town guests to walk the paved walkways, enjoy the river grass, see birds, snakes, and of course, alligators. Plenty of parking. Clean bathrooms. Staff is present. Tram service around paved loop into Everglades. Either rent or bring bikes. Some parts have no fenced areas, ergo, toddlers must be in strollers.

This is a very cool place. Only things we can suggest is if you’re going with friends go in the same car due to the $30 parking. If you’re going to ride your bicycle be prepared to pedal against the wind! It’s no joke! Tons of wildlife to see and it is right up close and personal! There is also a tour ride available.

I love this place at anytime but summer time could be too hot so better go early in the morning or late before closing. The park rangers are always willing to answer your questions and they are always around. From the top you have a nice view of part of the park and can see the alligator from a safety view. Anyway all over the way you can see them really close to the road, in sunny days also on the road. Some snakes and tons of different birds. I recommend carrying you mosquitoes repellent and sunblock and bottle water. They sell all that there if you forget it.

Bike path is very enjoyable and great for wildlife viewing. Good views from the observatory. Parking fills up rapidly on weekends so if you see folks parking on the street the lot is probably full and you may prefer to park there and walk in. $15 per person admission fee.

Had such a nice time. Took our bikes and did the 15 mile ride with our 9 year old son. It was peaceful and we saw lots of gators. Definitely best to go on a day that's cloudy or has some overcast... Otherwise bring lots of sunscreen and don't forget to hydrate! The observatory also has great views and is a 7 mile ride from the entrance to the path
