Paul was our captain this past weekend as I planned a surprise proposal for my now fiancé! He took us along some of the most scenic areas in Key Largo and was an excellent host as he even provided historical knowledge around the areas that we sailed.

Paul was kind and patient as he answered my unending questions surrounding the boat, places to cruise, and bringing items on board such as flower arrangements, charcuterie boards, and prosecco! Very polite, courteous, and truly made this a memorable experience for my fiancé and I!!

My fiance and I booked a private charter for a weekend. The guys at Morning Star gave us a Catalina 22’ (vessel name Key Largo Cottage). We had the pleasure of witnessing manatees swim beside our sailboat rental. It was truly a joy to sail it over the course of 2 days.

With our ASA certifications, the bay was a delight to navigate. Many sailboats are anchored, and the waters were filled with people who love the ocean. The team gave us all the equipment and info we needed.

Waking up each morning and seeing it docked at our property pier helped make our wedding weekend a dream come blue. Next time we’re in the Florida Keys, we will most certainly support Morning Star again.

    Very knowledgeable and patient staff.
Helped us get out of trouble very quickly when we ran the sailboat aground and without criticism, only offering helpful information.
Looking forward to our next experience with Morning Star.

We did a sunset cruise with Captain Rick who was really personable and took the time to chat with the kids, let us tour the boat, and explain their business model and facilities. It was an absolute joy and Captain Rick is a refreshing glimpse at what customer service used to be.

This 3 Sisters trip was in the making for months. A sister and her husband decided to sell their home in Miami this year so, it was clear if we wanted to enjoy a last hurrah, we had to act fast. A beautiful home with a resort-like feel, we’d held many special occasions there over the past 25+ years.
Deb found first of two water outings in the Keys which were usually part of a vacation here and her suggestions were spectacular!

Morning Star Charters, Pirate’s Choice Reef Sail & Snorkel did not disappoint!

Captain Dave relieved Captain Sara(h) on this trip and was joined by Joe, a hard-working First Mate. Laid back yet attentive, Captain Dave and First Mate Joe helped educate and entertain with a few stories of the sea and their experiences. The vessel was sea-worthy, and we had Captain Dave’s experience at the helm. We sisters were happy to have it to ourselves.

Deb proactively bought new snorkeling gear for all of us - two of us with limited snorkeling experience from years before. We “practiced” snorkeling in Deb & her husband Jim’s pool the day before our Morning Star Charter so, we weren’t quite as “green” as we would have been as we set sail that beautiful September morning.

Fantastic weather was on our side as a sunny day unfolded with warm breezes. First Mate Joe was helpful during fin-fitting and safely assisted us on and off the ship. “Hold onto your masks & jump when ready” and like that we discovered the ocean delightfully refreshing! Pretty and unusual coral reefs of varying sizes and a kaleidoscope of colorful fish were visible through our snorkeling masks. The sport takes some work if you aren’t used to it, but I understand the appeal.

We brought drinks and snacks along so, after snorkeling as long as desired, we climbed the ladder and First Mate Joe helped us board the ship. We enjoyed our refreshments and leisurely sailed back to port. We had a terrific time, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We highly recommend Pirate’s Choice Reef & Sail with a special thanks to Captain Dave & First Mate Joe for a fun experience!
