Dr. Matthew Snell was one of my best doctors. He didn't hesitate to tell you what was wrong and was very good with patients. He helped my ex-husband when he was having problems by sending him straight to the emergency room from his appointment. My ex was diagnosed with lung cancer which had metastasized in his brain.
For me, Dr. Snell looked at my infected eye and sent me immediately to the hospital. It was some serious orbital eye infection. If I had sneezed, the ophthalmologist said it would have had serious consequences.
Dr. Snell was tired of the politics of medicine. He also has a wife (Pediatrician?) who was making great strides in her career as well. He said he was going to be MomDad for a while and let his wife's career develop. WHAT A GUY! That was a few years ago and I still think about him.
I hope all is well with him and his family...

Dr Snell is the best doctor. He was my doctor for 15 years. And yes I’m still waiting for him to practice medicine again. Orlando regional makes doctors that leave them wait a few years before they can practice medicine in central Florida.
He left that practice because he believed his patients deserved the best care and the "partners" were tying his hands. He had a non-compete clause which is why you haven't seen him. I'm HOPING that he will be opening up a new practice soon!!!
A friend referred me to Dr. Snell 6 years ago, and from that first visit I learned how professional and personable he is. I learned a few months ago that he had left Physician Associates and to this day I have not been able to find him. Best doctor hands down!!
While an intern at cooper green hospital in birmingham ala DR SNELL WAS THE ONLY ONE to diagnose me correctly with toxosplasmosis. His way over STANDARD of CARE saved my life 19 years later I'm here because of Dr SNELL. Now that I'm in ocala I will try to make him my pcp for my existing illness because I have not been to a better DR. In that amount of time. THANK YOU DR
SNELL. As sick as I was and not eating he ask me if there was anything he could do as far as to get me to eat, I requested spagetti 'os and peanut butter on bread, wich he did and I ate it. 27 then almost 47 now I owe my life to Dr. Snell I will become his patient again very soon. Thanks Doc for caring. If an intern can do what he did I can only imagine the GREAT DOCTOR HE MUST BE TODAY MY NAME IS DAVID RHODES AND DR SNELL IS THE MOST RESPECTED PERSON IN MY LIFE.
