My daughter just completed the program at Providence Pass after being there 11 months, and this includes finishing both her Junior and Senior year during this time.
It is difficult to express in just a brief review how grateful I am for Providence Pass. My daughter was on the edge of life at the time she arrived and our family relationships were in chaos. She was involved in self destructive behaviors of every kind and had no self respect or respect for anyone else. She was not interested in her future and had no plans or motivation to improve her situation. As parents, we had become helpless to find a solution even after trying multiple counselors, intensive outpatient counseling and many other interventions. Providence Pass was found during an internet search. The first person I spoke to, Jennifer (one of the directors) was so reassuring and encouraging. I immediately felt that this is where we were going to find help and healing for our hurting girl.
The first 3 months she was angry and unhappy, however she was surrounded by amazing counselors, house parents and the program directors who immersed her in love, accountability, opportunity to make good choices, protection from harm, open discussion of her issues with professional counselors and plenty of exercise, good food, a Christ-centered, energetic church and lots of fun outings in Orlando. She was able to have phone calls and home visits. We had plenty of feedback from the staff about her progress and updates on her daily achievements. Her weight began to improve dramatically, her sleep patterns were reestablished, and her mood and thought processes improved more and more as the weeks went on. She also was highly motivated and working hard toward completing high school as she no longer wanted to return to her local high school. The academic instructors at Providence Pass worked closely with her to help her meet this goal, all the while holding her to a high standard of honesty and ethical behavior in the classroom. They sent weekly updates on her progress toward completion.
My daughter is now home and is a new person in every way - she is happy, healthy physically and emotionally, she has a personal relationship with God, her relationship with her family has been restored, she just celebrated her high school graduation and is starting college with a goal to become a nurse practitioner working with babies. I can assure you that the staff at Providence Pass is exactly who they say they are, and are even better than they say they are. I would strongly recommend staying the course and following the recommendations of these professionals - had I taken my daughter out of the program early or not finished, I may not be seeing the same results that I see now. She didn't get in her troubled situation overnight and it certainly wasn't going to be fixed overnight either. Be patient and let the process work. The counselors and directors have many years of experience and have seen it all and know how to handle difficult circumstances. You may contact me for a parent's perspective if you would like more information.
Providence Pass was a LIFE CHANGING experience for me. I was 17 when i was brought to the program and graduated it 11 months later. I was a very troubled girl who depended on unhealthy people, drugs, and alcohol. I reached a point in my life where my family couldn't recognize who i was, my friends couldn't recognize who I was, and even I couldn't recognize who I was. This program saved my life. I dedicated my life to Christ while being here after being an atheist for so long. I learned to be happy and I learned to love myself. I graduated high school early with excellent grades and motivation to go to college. The staff here is amazing and so loving. They genuinely care for each and every girl there. They show unconditional love to us each and every day. The therapists are extraordinary and extremely helpful. Even though i graduated the program the staff still checks up on me and shows the love and care they have for me. I truly recommend sending your daughter here. It changed my life and it changed my families life.
Wow! I can’t say enough great things about Providence Pass!!!! They are more than just a school. They create and sustain a positive and loving experience for their girls. I have NEVER seen a staff so dedicated to my daughter.
My daughter is now 17. We have been seeking help for her since she was 4 years old. She was struggling with multiple social and emotional concerns. Before Providence Pass, there were no professionals who were able to help us.
This is an “immersion” program. They immersed my daughter in strict routines, love, positive vibes, school and the church.
It was a tough day when they came to transport her. Probably the toughest day of my life. Yet, not once did I second guess our decision. I knew she was in the right hands. Jennifer and Billy stayed in constant contact with me so I would know she was doing well.
Dr. V. has an amazing ability to balance empathy with tough love. I have never worked with a therapist who would call my daughter out. It was a nice change! She made me feel very supported as a parent.
By the end of the program, I had a daughter who was not only more loving but genuinely appreciative and caring for our family. She did find the Lord through her journey and that made it worth every penny. All of our friends and family comment on the positive change they see.
The great news is that my daughter is on track to graduate high school 6 months ahead of her peers. She is a strong A/B student. Before Providence Pass, we were afraid she wouldn’t even graduate!
She now had the tools to help her achieve her dreams as an adult who not only participates in society but will also contribute to the good of it.
Please reach out to Jennifer & Billy for my contact information if you would like to ask any additional questions or share your concerns. I have absolutely no regrets and I recommend Providence Pass without any hesitation.
Our daughter was about to enter her senior year of high school. She had become someone we didn’t recognize. Defiant, manipulative, getting involved with the wrong crowd, using drugs and partipating in illegal activity. My husband and i were hopeless. I came across Providence Pass while researching online for i did a lot of research. The moment i spoke with Jen i felt a connection. has been there since August 2017 and has thrived beyond my greatest expectations. The staff is amazing and treats my daughter like family. She has decided to reside in Orlando and attend college there to be close to them! They have brought so much hope, peace, and comfort to our lives. It’s so amazing to have our daughter back again. If you are struggling with your daughter and have lost hope, i urge you to make that phone call. It changed our family’s life in so many amazing ways.
My daughter became someone I didn't even know anymore. Lost in drugs, alcohol at the age of 14. She was very angry and on a road of self destruction. It was heavy on my heart to see my young and fragile daughter struggle with these adult problems. It was the hardest but best decision of our lives to send her to Providence. After 2 months in the summer program and a partial school year she came home with the right tools and knowledge to cope, to love herself and have a hopeful outlook on life. It feels amazing to have my daughter back. The staff still keep in touch regularly to check up. I know we have created a lifetime bond with the staff at Providence. THANK YOU!
