  This is one of my favorite places to visit. Plenty of wildlife to photograph, It's a step back in time to old Florida.
  
  Enjoy Florida nature at its best. Take binoculars and cameras. Bring family and friends for a casual stroll around the preserve. There is plenty of parking.
  
  The visitor center is open most days except Sunday for information and a gift shop. Check the information boards to see about events and work shops.
  
  If you are a wildlife photographer bring your big lenses its a great place to capture bird and gator shots.

  Green Cay is a beautifully crafted artificial wetland area. It is great for birdwatchers who can observe a large number of birds in many cases up close.
  It is also recommend for people wanting to observe a Florida nature area. Native plants, palms, and trees are planted in a way that makes the center look natural.
  Finally a lot of people just go for a brisk walk on the 1.4 mi long boardwalk.

  Great place to view wildlife and take photographs. only problem is the people power-walking and getting annoyed while you're trying to relax and enjoy the scenery. id imagine they could power-walk anywhere else but we cant photograph wildlife in their natural habitat. otherwise awesome place.

  Free access to nature. Get your exercise and fresh air on the boardwalk. We saw a majestic big blue heron just posing for us. We saw many of the usual like white and glossy ibis, but we think we saw a bittern and know we saw a cormorant. Felt my blood pressure just drop.

  It's rare, that we turn an urbanized place back to wetlands. The project was done with love and attention to details. You can enjoy the bird watching, the ever changing emerald colored water, and alligators from the boardwalk. I can see Flora and Fauna of this magical place every time, closing my eyes as a part of evening meditation. Bringing your children there will, maybe instill in them love to the nature. Yes, clean, and controlled wetlands, is like a bit laquired nature, but still NATURE.
