We’ve been with the gym for over a year and we’ve traveled from Atlanta to Miami to compete. Hands down there is not a better coach in the area than Coach Tete. We trialed a gym in New port before we found our gym home at Upper Academy. I can confidently say you won’t find a better coach to have in your corner.

My two kids and I all attend training here. Coach TeTe is a wonderful professor and is absolutely great with the kids. The other trainees become like family and the gym has a great “Team Dynamic”. Starting something like JiuJitsu can be intimidating but you will quickly realize the physical and mental health benefits of it. The team is very welcoming and you will feel as if you belong there as soon as you walk through the doors.

My nephew started coming over here and he introduced my son to it. They treated us like family from day one. Coach Walbert is very knowledgeable on his techniques on BJJ. Everyone is real friendly. Now I even started doing some clases like Cardiokickboxing. Overall a great experience and the big plus is that its affordable. Now my two daughters are practicing Jiu-jistu. This is a great place come and join us!!

Amazing coach, atmosphere, students and training. Coach Walber "tete" Barros is a world class athlete and instructor with experience. He has trained and fought with the best in the world. He continues to do so, not only for himself, but to inspire his students that it's ok to get out of your comfort zone and follow your dreams whether its in the gym or in life.
