I had been going to see Dr. Vollbracht for many years and he is a wonderful doctor. Unfortunately, he retired! But he hand-picked his replacement, Dr. Patel, and I am so thankful. Dr. Patel is very compassionate, listens when I have questions, and very good at his job. The reason for charging extra for separate injections is because insurance requires it. Dr. Vollbracht was doing some things out of courtesy, which was really great, but insurance companies no longer allow it. I understand the frustration with the additional costs. In my case, I no longer can get Botox and my occipital injections on the same day due to my insurance so have to make a separate trip. I would recommend that if people are having issues with the front desk that they leave a message for Dr. Patel's nurse Robin.
One of the other reasons I love Dr. Patel is that recently my mom had a stroke scare and was hospitalized at Morton Plant. Due to COVID restrictions, I was unable to visit and speak to her doctors. Dr. Patel pulled up her records (she is also a patient of his) and explained everything to my mom with patience and empathy.
As much as I loved Dr. Vollbracht, Dr. Patel has noticed and is treating me for neurological symptoms that Dr. Vollbracht never addressed. I've had chronic migraines and cervical issues, along with other chronic pain. Dr. Patel is now treating me for these other, related issues and kept working with me to find medicine that would give me some relief. He's wonderful, as it his nurse (a hold-over from Dr. V) as is Robin.
