The buddy system is a wonderful tool the school uses to match the youngest and oldest students together for weekly mass and other special events throughout the school year. Teachers make themselves available to students and parents before and after school and the principal knows each of the parents by name. St Patrick has small class sizes and is a very close knit school. The academic and religious experience was just what we were looking for.
We love this school - it has been great for our boys! Academically, the school is top notch (students from St Pat's consistently score in the top of their class at Clearwater Catholic High School and on standardized test scores). The Principal, one of the best and most experienced in Pinellas County, has implemented outstanding Spanish, athletic, and music programs. But what really sets St Patrick's apart is its culture. The teachers and parents care, the student body is diverse and the children are building character, not just knowledge. Character is what it is really all about. If you want to get your children a great start in life, this is your school.
St. Patrick's has been a good school for my three children. They have gotten a great education! We are fortunate to have such strong teachers. The curriculum is demanding at times but well worth the effort. The kids have also enjoyed the buddy system where the older kids are big buddies to the younger ones.
This school builds character in its students and values respect, integrity and honesty. It missions the faith that is being transmitted in our home. Our children have been challenged to grow academically, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. There are so many opportunities for the students to learn languages, music, drama, TV production and sports in addition to the basics. The involvement of the teachers and parents partnering together is priceless!
St. Patrick is a great school. The principal is the best and teachers are caring and very professional. Wouldn't want my kids anywhere else with their emphasis on academics, teaching the Catholic moral principals and creating a very safe and friendly atmosphere!!
