Johnny trained me to understand my voice like an intimate friendship and because of his unique teaching method, II am delightfully appreciative of the wonder and awe of this gift called the voice. I am honored and very grateful of his vocal training with me and will be continuing to train with him.

I’ve worked with Johnny for about two years. I came to the area searching/struggling and found a vocal coach that wanted to explore my voice without trying to make me sing a certain genre, and assist me to find “my voice” and get to a place where I could sing and play guitar in public…(without vocal fatigue) Johnny did that and more. We detailed a plan after the first session and concentrated on vocal development… let me say that again… vocal development… regardless of the style I wanted to sing. Very quickly I was able to start opening up my vocal register without constriction or “forcing it”. I tend to sing with constriction and a high laryngeal position… which sounds forced…. Johnny created an environment that is comfortable to explore my voice…. That is so important… to be comfortable. Let’s be honest… we make a lot of noise that isn’t pretty lol… and it is a lot of fun too!

One of my many goals was to perform in public and do “gigs”. Within 6-7 months I was confident to start playing in public. My music career, as a local musician has been crazy… I am turning down opportunities to sing now. Honestly it’s been a lot of hard work. I practice singing 1-2 hours a day minimum. That said, without Johnny I wouldn’t be the vocalist and overall musician I am today. You really can’t put a price tag on it.
