Lakeland Midwifery Care

I have watched Lakeland Midwifery Care grow and flourish over the last decade. They attended the birth of my third child and treated me with such personalized care and attention. I was always a name, never a number. They took time to explain, get full informed consent, and walked me through options I did not know I had.They attended my home birth, made sure everything was according to my wishes, tucked me and baby into bed and cleaned up the birth pool. You would have never known a baby was born there aside from him being in my arms. As the years have passed and I have entered the birth worker field as a doula, Lakeland Midwifery Client's are a joy to have. I know the care they are receiving is compassionate, thorough, and individualized. Most importantly the care is evidence based and current. I don't have to be on high alert to watch the words and movements of their providers for my clients during their births. You will often hear me say when I find out a client is using Lakeland Midwifery Care, "Oh great! Your birth plan is to just have a baby however you desire at home then, because they ask for consent before anything." Their community based model has helped so many birthing people experience the Midwifery model of care, even if they are not seeking a home birth. I with out a hesitation would suggest to any birthing person to seek a consult with them and see if they are a good fit for your needs.

Highly recommend. I will never forget how kind, caring, and professional my team was. They handled my pregnancy and delivery with importance and love and that allowed me to birth so peacefully. They were encouraging and so calm during birth (which in turn kept me calm 😁) Thank you so much for taking me as a patient and helping me to have a safe and memorable birth story. Marianne and Amanda cared for me during my pregnancy and home water birth of my son. They are two of the most compassionate caring individuals I have ever met. I would recommend them to any and everyone and if I ever decide to have more they will definitely be my providers! They allow you to make decisions as the mother and do not push you to do anything you do not feel comfortable with while still giving you top notch advice! And lets not forget Kathy (the wonderful secretary) whom was always welcoming and great conversation while waiting to be seen. And last but not least Mary Katherine was always very sweet and helpful. Just the best birth team anyone could ask for! I wish I could give them 10 stars!!!!

The prenatal care was excellent and personal, and it was very comforting to be able to have the same women that performed my prenatal care deliver my baby.
They truly care about their patients. They are open, kind, and knowledgeable. Maryanne and Amanda were amazing at my (very long!) birth. They almost instinctively knew what I needed.
I will absolutely use Lakeland Midwifery Care for my next pregnancy, and I highly recommend them.
