I’ve often thought about what a beacon on a hill looks like in real terms, real life. It is what this school looks like, it is what this church it is attached to looks like. There is a lot of goodness that is evident by the volunteers, employees, and administrators that pour their lives into this campus. Highly recommended!!!
One of the best school I went to! I go to St. Paul Lutheran and started in 4th grade. Many friends, lots of nice staff members, and is super far beyond a 5 star rating.
This is best place. My daughter attended here for 1.5 years when she was two. Now she is six and she got easily in to the gifted program at the same time she is always kind to others. Ms. Angela was her teacher and we always feel my daughter got a good base both in her intelligence and behavior. She even had her teacher's accent for couple of years :)
I am a teacher at St. Paul Lutheran School and my three boys are students in this wonderful school. I had never worked in such a peaceful, loving, nurturing and kind atmosphere. Mr.Robert Boyd ,the principal is a Christlike man that treats his teachers with kindness, grace and respect. Elementary Teachers are very kind, helpful and always want the best for the children. Middle school teachers care for and teach their students with love and patience. The staff is also very kind and patient. I am so glad I work at St. Paul Lutheran, It has been a blessing in our lives.
I saw a couple of the reviews. Honestly, it looks to me that some of the comments made were not quite fair. If my children were asked to pitch in and help, and they denied the person asking, then I would expect my kids to explain to me why they didn't help someone out (cleaning tables or fetching a drink for someone). If my child made a mess in the cafeteria, I would EXPECT them to respond to the adult respectfully and to clean it up; and would not tolerate any less from them. Believing they are "above" the cleaning staff is absolutely NOT tolerated. My children are taught to roll up their sleeves and help. Teachers asking for a drink? Of course, I would also expect my children to take care of it. Have you ever considered being locked up in a room, responsible for the safety of 20+ kids, be required to teach a specific number of minutes per class to meet standards, attend to drop-in parents with questions, attend all meetings, prepare all curriculum materials, and have to plan when you could go to the bathroom or refill your drink or tend to anything personal? Teachers are responsible to attend to many things both inside and outside of a classroom, and often run out of time to take care of their own personal needs. Parents forget that teachers are also humans.
We did run into situations with kids being bullies, but we were listened to and the situations were addressed. If Mr. Boyd had turned to us and asked what we thought we should do (as one parent commented), then from a leadership standpoint, that could mean several things. Am I a chronic complainer with no real solutions in mind? Am I being unclear about my concerns? Am I obviously trying to "attack" one family with no grounds? Is this a complicated concern that would require more input? Principal training does not include extra sensory perception.
Sure, schools will have unhappy parents and students, but it is the responsibility of the parents to proactively and responsibly address their concerns. Each child is different, that is certain, but what are you teaching your children? To not help others, not clean up after themselves, and to disrespect authority? To not take ownership of themselves or be a proactive part of that little "community"? Honestly... Parents should be better role models than that.
