Opis Highlands Lake Center

I could not be more pleased with the caring and knowledgeable nursing services my mother received at Opis Highlands. My mother had open heart surgery and a bypass surgery and is in her mid-80s. She had a tough time and was in the hospital for a while but then released and we took her to a different rehab center that had high reviews. Horrible experience there! She felt ignored and I watched everything and saw that she was in fact ignored. They also ignored textbook signs of acute congestive heart failure and tried to make me feel like I was being irrational when I started asking questions. After four days I actually had to demand that my mother be taken back to the ER. She ended up staying in the hospital for another week because she was that ill. The ER doctors were shocked that my concerns were not taken seriously. I then decided to try Opis Highlands Lake Center based on reviews from doctors and nurses and I am so glad I did! Everyone there is so welcoming and warm and made my mother feel so special and cared for. They watched her like a hawk and gave a status report each and every morning with any concerns that they had. They coached me on things to do with her when I brought her home and gave me a full schedule of medications, home nursing care, and doctor visits she should have. I’m not a medical professional but went home feeling very confident and prepared. I am so grateful we chose this place and It is the only place we will use in the future.
