Irma's Tacos, Craft Beer and Tequila Bar

Shari and I had lunch today at Irma's Taco & Tequila Bar in North Port FL. Its located in the Wellen Park area. Quite easy to locate. We both loved the vibes of the place! We meant to eat here earlier but our day locations got in the way but today it just fell into place.
The area is quite open and airy, very clean fresh feel to the restaurant. Our server was very nice and accommodating. I ordered Ice Water w Lemon & Lime and so did Shari but she also ordered a Berry-Rita mixed drink with lovely plumb blackberries.
I added a Margaritaville Strawberry Diaquori water enhancement package to my water Zero Sugar 5 Calories.
Shari ordered the Carne Asada Taco and A Ground Beef Taco adding Chorizo w a side of Queso Cheese Dip. I ordered the Carne Asada Taco also and a Grilled Mahi but with the toppings of the Al Pastor toppings. They let me switch the proteins around which was very nice! I also ordered chips and salsa for $4 because unfortunately they are not gratuitous like most Mexican cuisine restaurants !
The food was amazing! We both chose the corn tortillas over the flour option. But here you are given the lettuce option as well and they do offer vegan tacos too! They offer a taco called Ophelia that is Black Bean based w some yummy toppings but I knew 2 tacos was more than plenty for me.
I was able to eat about 3/4 of my Mahi Taco and picked at some Carne Asada Protein on the 2nd one but I was full. I did eat a few chips because the salsa was thick and AMAZING!! Shari said her Queso was quite good too...I'm not a queso fan!
Definitely would go back. Highly recommend ! 5 stars from me!

We spent a date night at Irma’s and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and fun, the food was excellent and the drinks were great. We really enjoyed our date night and will be back soon! The birria tacos are phenomenal. Don’t forget to read their “about us” section on the menu!

My family and I visit Irma’s often and it’s always a highlight! The tacos are incredible—especially the Al Pastor, which is our absolute favorite. The location is perfect, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is consistently excellent.

Beyond the amazing food, Irma’s stands out for the kindness and love they show their customers and community. It’s a place where everyone feels welcome, and that matters just as much as the great tacos.

Very good food. We sat at the bar n had great service n drinks. Birria Tacos We’re very good and the taco salad was too with many protein and vegetarian options.

Cool story about its opening. Great variety of tacos and drinks. A little pricey, but excellent service and atmosphere.
