Cabot Reserve has gone through a very positive change in recent years with the involvement of Family Extended Care of Sarasota. My mother spent the last year of her life at Cabot and I was very pleased with her care and the facility. Her situation was difficult with failing health, deafness, and dementia. The staff handled all of that well from Michael Bliss to the administration, nursing, and social directors. I can't thank them enough. Michael was especially helpful during a stressful time of moving and settling my Mom into Cabot.
My Mom is 98 and has been here for going on 9 years, she has a nice private room and bath which is kept clean . They do her laundry which I take home and iron as it pleases Mom .The director and office staff are always responsible and available to me. The activities director is real sweet and tries to get the elders engaged. They have some very kind people working there who pay attention to Mom and help her. They often bring in entertainment . Sometimes there are field trips planned. A few times a local lady brought in her tame Llamas that were wonderful and gentle. Residents loved them. I would give it five stars but for the food , which is mediocre at best. Considering that the residents have not much to look forward to at this stage in life except for meals I wish that they were served a better quality food . Mom is content there. The facility is clean. And she is treated respectfully.
I met with Michael Bliss after coming to the difficult decision to place my father in an assisted living facility. I was able to meet the administrator Breanna and the staff while on my tour. This facility really cares deeply for their residents and I couldn’t imagine a better place to have my father. There is nothing easy about this decision, but the peace they brought me has made this transition so much easier for me and my family. I recommend this facility for anyone who wants peace of mind in placing their loved ones.
One of the biggest challenges a family has is to find a place for family members when they can no longer live alone. Cabot Reserve on the Green offers so many options for their residents to keep them active. The building is beautiful and welcoming. The living space was bright and very accommodating. The care staff were wonderful. They attended to residents every need in a very loving way. The management at Cabot Reserve on the Green is incredible. There is a "can do" attitude and any and all questions, concerns and requests are addressed along with a follow up if needed.
My husband and I toured this place for a friend that needs assisted living and will need memory care. He has limited funds. So, finding a decent place was difficult. Mike Bliss was very helpful and caring. He helped us come up with the best option for our friend and is helping him get more aid to continue his care and maybe move into a larger unit. We liked that the memory care residents weren't locked in up like prisoners. The staff are all very friendly and seem to care. Maria Gallo in the business office is also wonderful. Both Mike and Maria have a wonderful rapport with the residents.
From our interactions, I would give the staff five stars. The only reason for the four stars is because there is still work to be done to the facility. Mike said they are in the process of renovating. Once renovations are done, it should be very nice - easily five stars. But rest assured, the place is clean and homey. The residents we spoke to seemed to be happy there.
