(June 27, 2019, 2:15 pm)The center was beautiful and the people were really friendly. Sometimes I feel uncomfortable just "dropping in" to an event at an organization where I've never been. People i don't know. Norms I'm not familiar with. Activities that can feel uncomfortable to learn. So how you are greeted and supported can matter. This meditation center did this great. I checked in and the receptionist had someone show me around and describe what was gonna happen. And where the bathrooms are:-) I don't want to "star" review the beginners meditation session itself except to say it was relaxing and informative. For those reading this new to meditation there are many forms. This place has guided meditation. A leader sits in front of the group and asks us to pay attention to things going on in our bodies. This beginner session was about paying attention to your breathing. Easier said than done, but an important start. There was no chanting or interactions. So its easy to sit quietly and feel comfortable.
(August 26, 2018, 6:48 am)This Meditation Center is an oasis of peace in Sarasota. The atmosphere is so welcoming, warm, and friendly. The people are great.
The Center offers drop in meditation classes, day courses, and longer meditation retreats. The teachers are very down to earth and accessible. There is something for everyone and it’s well worth a visit. The world needs more spiritual places like KMC Florida. It’s a beacon for world peace.
(August 16, 2018, 10:35 am)The people here are very friendly and welcoming - it does not matter if you are an experienced meditator or not. Classes are insightful and full of practical advice to integrate Buddha's teachings into everyday life. Meditating with a group of people in a beautiful temple, surrounded by gorgeous statues of the different Buddhas is a most serene and joyful experience.
(August 15, 2018, 6:22 pm)It was an auspicious and fortunate day almost 2 years ago when I decided to attend a Tuesday evening meditation class at KMC Florida. For years I have been toying with the idea of meditating and tried to do it on my own without success. That night the teaching was so clear and the teacher truly touched my heart with amazing truths. I began attending meditation classes and lectures regularly. These teachings and meditations were so practical and have given me a path to the inner peace and happiness that I have been longing for and have transformed the quality of my daily life at home and at work. For the icing on the cake I have found a wonderful community of like minded people that have shown me so much love and kindness they have become my new found friends and family……… I am so fortunate. In this hectic and busy modern world we all can benefit from some inner peace and true happiness.
