“Okay, I had super low expectations for a beachside “concession stand”-like lunch spot. We were happily shocked with the food quality. My husband and I split a wrap with fries. The wrap had fresh guacamole salsa that was lovely. Others in our party had fish tacos, chicken tenders, and a hot dog. The fries were typical, but hot, crispy, not too greasy goodness, so that’s a win. It was around $83 for 6 of us and it was far better than any fast food restaurant hands down. One of our orders was given the wrong side (tortilla chips instead of fries, but they swapped them out). The concrete picnic tables are obviously uncomfortable on the bum, but highly necessary for beachside dining. They were shaded from the sun, but not so clean. I put sanitizer on napkins and tried to wipe them off. All in all, we were pleased and enjoyed the food.”

“I really enjoyed this place with my fiancée! It has a beautiful outdoor seating area that overlooks the water. The food is delicious! I recommend the fish and chips with extra tartar sauce! Also, make sure to get a side of their garlic potatoes. They are yummy! Portion sizes are very large!”

“This restaurant is inside the lobby area of the Hotel Indigo. I'm not sure of all the hours, but this is a Friday night and they are closing at 9pm, not 11p as Google states. I had the Flounder Alfredo Florentine and it was delightful. Enough sauce to use on the veggies but not so much it was drowning. Perfect amount for me. Potatoes were tender and tasty. The service was better than the food. I sat in the corner to get work done. She was not overbearing, but she did check in me and refilled my water as needed, which was appreciated. I was staying at the hotel and ate there out of convenience but was pleasantly surprised!”

“We stumbled across this little gem of a restaurant while visiting Sarasota. I’m from Houston. Texas so it’s difficult to impress me with food. We have some of the best eclectic as well as fine dining restaurants. Fork & Hen is on par for sure. We tried the Blue Plate fried chicken, chicken & waffles, the falafel appetizers & iced tea.. Everything was amazing. All the food and sauces are from scratch & you can taste it! I love the added touch of the homemade pickles to these dishes. Can’t wait to come back & try something else when I’ll be there in October.”

“I’m so glad I took my girl here on our first date. The place doesn’t look like much but it is a clean and comfortable atmosphere, and the sushi was the best we’ve ever had! Lily was our server and she is super sweet. We ordered maki combo b, passion roll, Sakura roll, and lava roll and they were all a perfect balance of simple and more complex flavors. I was expecting them to all come out separately but they surprised us with this beautiful plate! I was so impressed and appreciative that red plum went above and beyond to give us an amazing night! Thank you Lily and team!”

“Nice people here. Delicious steak sandwich one of the best I've ever eaten. It was so nice to get an authentic Philly cheesesteak. I really like how the onions and peppers are sauteed and they add this good juice to the beef. Very very good much better than the steak sandwich place we have in Ohio that I go to. They even use the same hoagie buns. But the way they cook their beef and onions makes it top notch for sure.”

“OMGSH THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN GEM 💎😍 I stumbled across Frank's because it was getting late and I was getting "hangry." Lucky for me, this delicious piece of heaven was right around the corner and the hours said open till 2 AM. I even called because it sounded too good to be true! The girl that answered the phone and served me when I arrived was SUPER SWEET. I am literally already looking forward to the next time I can go and try something else! 🦀🍤”

“I stopped by a few weeks ago with a friend and we ordered fish ceviche and it was delicious! I'm very hesitant to eat raw fish like sushi (sashimi) and even though ceviche is not raw I'm still hesitant because in my Greek culture we eat everything well done lol. The ceviche was so fresh and the "leche de tigre" was so flavorful and I wasn't even slightly concerned. The lady who served us was also very sweet and gracious and the atmosphere is very beautiful. I will definitely stop in again when I'm in Sarasota! Thank you so much!”

“I'm from Upstate NY, so first time trying this place. It's absolutely delicious. Their waffles are perfect, hash browns are addicting, and grits are top notch. They also have sausage gravy that's amazing. The staff always seem cheerful and super sweet. God how I wish they had these in NY.”

“The name was honestly what finally drew us in, after countless times of seeing the sign while driving by. We enjoyed the service that Kelly provided us quite a lot, and she told us a bit about the history of the restaurant. Everything we ordered was super tasty, which was the hungry man pizza, chicken marsala, and tiramisu. A nice side detail I really like is how they have plants lining the entire fence and walkway leading up to the entrance. Will be coming back for that tiramisu again for sure.”

“If you live in the area or just visiting this place should definitely be on your list of good eats. The environment is soothing and pleasant. Yet family friendly. The service is top notch, made us feel high valued. The food is excellent well balanced and high quality meats! It’s fun, the children loved helping us cook the meat. This place has definitely become top 5 for my family.”

“We were sitting around talking about something sweet. We all had a sweet tooth and was hungry at the same time. Then somebody brought up sweet potato pie. Why did they say that? Now normally on August you can't really find a good sweet potato pie but low and behold my people told me about this place. I am not from Sarasota so I didn't know the gem they had down the road. Literally. So what did we do? Call them. How many lies do you have? I have three left. Hold them I'm on my way. Now once my friend for there she decided to buy some barbecue too. So we could snack but the main objective today was pie. She scooped up some brisket sandwiches and some ribs too. When she walked in the house and gave me my own individual pie I'm thinking it's just a slice. Nope it's an individual deep dish pie for one person. Did I say deep dish? Oh yes God! The crust was not store bought. It had a heavy presence of butter, it was flaky and it was also slight sweet. I could have ate the pie crust all by itself. The taste omg just the right texture. It was heavy, not loose. Sweet but not overpowering the sweet potato. Just the right amount of butter, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Jesus my friend can't never come visit Atlanta without bringing me at least two of these pies. I couldn't eat it all at one time either. So not sleep on these pies. Oh and there were no strings either. The barbecue was dry rub and some of the best I have ever had. I wish I had more of it but again it was a snack and not the focus. Best believe I will have me another pie.”

“This location is similar in layout to the one further south on 41, but is slightly larger and more spacious. If I was only going to hang at one, it would be this one. And there is a ton of great outdoor seating.”

“My first time diner here. I took my parents to listen to the live music of Patti Highland. She performs Saturdays from 5-8:30 p.m. outside under a large well built Tiki Hut. We all enjoyed our dinners and were well taken care of by Eric our waiter. Patti was fantastic as a singer. We are BIG fans of her. There was a nasty smell when I stepped into the restaurant. I am thankful my parents never went in. I hope this smell gets addressed immediately.”

“Highly recommend… Loved every minute! The ambience… breathtaking, the food… unbelievable, and the staff… so friendly and knowledgeable! This meal was my Mother’s Day gift from my son 💜 We even had a pod of dolphins playing in front of us while we ate… couldn’t have been any better!!”

“I brought a group of 52 people from the Riverside Club Golf and Marina Community in Ruskin to spend the evening at PopStroke. Some went right out and played the two different putt courses and the others went in to eat. They have an upstairs bar and two bars downstairs all with TVs to watch sports games. They have a play area for kids like a jungle gym. They also have two foosball tables, two ping-bong tables, and two cornhole games. You can order drinks while you're on the putt courses and one of the many helpers will bring it to you.”

“Darumas in Sarasota is an absolute gem that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that immediately made me feel at home. The traditional Japanese decor and elegant setting set the perfect tone for an authentic dining experience. The restaurant’s attention to detail and cleanliness were remarkable, creating a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. Now, let’s talk about the food. Wow! The menu at Darumas offers a delightful array of Japanese dishes, each crafted with precision and bursting with flavor. Their sushi selection was a standout, featuring fresh and beautifully presented rolls that were a joy to savor. The melt-in-your-mouth sashimi was equally impressive, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to using high-quality ingredients. I was also delighted by their teppanyaki experience. The skilled chefs put on an entertaining show while preparing the dishes right in front of us. The flavors of the teppanyaki dishes were divine, and the generous portions left us more than satisfied. The service was top-notch throughout the evening. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and happy to provide recommendations based on our preferences. The attention to customer satisfaction was evident in every aspect of our dining experience. The manager came by to check on us, ensuring that everything met our expectations. Darumas is an excellent choice for a special occasion or a memorable night out. The combination of delicious food, exceptional service, and a charming ambiance make it a must-visit destination for anyone looking to indulge in the finest Japanese cuisine in Sarasota. Overall, my visit to Darumas was an absolute delight, and I can’t wait to return for another exceptional dining experience.”

“The Zingers salad and the French onion soup are my favorite here. The atmosphere is great! If you want to watch a sports event you should get here earlier, this place is always busy. The service is good but sometimes it’s slow, +30mins wait for your food. They have several options for drinks, different beers, happy hour, cocktails, etc.”

“This food truck is top notch! The food is absolutely delicious I got the 1/2 rack ribs and pulled pork sandwich I recommend to get the coleslaw and beans. Their house sauce has to be the best I’ve ever had. It’s tangy and got a nice kick to it. I’d drive a million miles to come to this food truck. Thank you and appreciate the great service.”
