I contracted covid-19 and ended up paralyzed from my waist down. In desperate need after not being able to be myself after 14 month and getting Gillian Barre Syndrome from COVID in 2020, I searched for Driving Rehabilitations companies. I came across this one and thought it was just therapy and placed it aside. Then, my O.T. put me in contact with them, summitted my paperwork and Jordan (in the picture) took it from there. I absolutely was in love with what I saw, I thought I was going to be freaking out driving as I never drove with handhelds. Jordan explain the process, was very patient and made it fun. She ensure to repeat anything I need it to do and to take me anywhere I wanted to go if I had any fears or needed assistance with at the time. She trained me I felt super comfortable. I think I was getting her dizzy! lol. She was just totally out this world as a trainer! Listen! if you are looking for an Adaptive rehabilitation program place, for a little or a permanent solution... this is totally the place. Patient, caring and most of all, options, Jordan has options for you of the equipment's. Without her, I would still be sitting at home today!!! Thanks Jordan!!!
Our experience at the Neuro Hub was very positive. Doro was caring, knowledgeable, and professional. She was attuned to strengths and deficits, and conducted the assessment efficiently, fairly, and throughly. The report to the referring physician was factual and comprehensible. We would wholeheartedly recommend The Neuro Hub.
I was unlucky enough during some back surgery to acquire what it is known as a drop foot. The result is I lost the use of my right leg. I do not know if I will ever get that functionality back.
Nevertheless, it was necessary to have my car adapted to hand controls so that I could maintain my independence and move forward. To have my card modified the State requires that I complete testing and training by a certified company. Once complete I was then able to take a motor vehicle test at my local DMV which would modify my drivers license noting my disability. Further, the certified company could issue a script that would authorize a vendor to make the modifications on my car.
I was fortunate enough to be directed to The Neuro Hub in Altamonte Springs, FL. Dorothee Zuleger, or Doro as she likes to be known, was that tester, trainer and hand holder at my DMV test. The Neuro Hub is a no joke, seriously qualified “come to the rescue” for someone like me.
Doro works in a beautiful facility and seems to have all the right tools for testing and qualifying me for road training. Next the Hub has a van designed for driver training with the oversight of intervention (a brake pedal for the teacher in the passenger seat) tools. Doro had me drive to an open space where I had plenty of room to try out her hand controls. For me I became comfortable quickly all the while I was given encouragement and gentle reminders on my progress.
Once complete Doro came to my DMV appointment as my coach and friend. In my case Doro could not go to her usual DMV in Seminole County. Due to COVID19 I had to have my exam at the Lake County DMV. She did all the talking and smoothed the way for my exam which went fine.
My next step was to have the car modified. Doro made some recommendations that made my choice a better one for the long haul.
I could not be happier with my experience and feel confident in recommending in the most positive way your consideration of The Neuro Hub.
I just completed a 3 week intensive therapy program at The Neuro Hub. It was amazing! Doro and Lynette think outside the box and realize there’s not a one size fits all approach to therapy, which makes the therapy and them extremely effective. They treat the person instead of the diagnosis by using a blend of different techniques. Both of them are positive and super motivated to help you reach your goals and cheer you on every step of the way. I’m done with the intensive therapy program, but they check on me everyday to see how I’m doing with the home exercise program they developed specifically for me. My progress at The Neuro Hub was so great that I’m going back in a month so they can take me to the next level. To say I highly recommend The Neuro Hub is an understatement. This team and their therapeutic approach are a MUST for anyone battling a neurological condition.
My daughter spent the past three weeks as a patient at The Nueo Hub and CORE. She is nine months post-stroke, having suffered two strokes in May resulting in total left side paralysis. She has had continual OT and PT since her strokes and her progress has been slow. Her three weeks at Neuro Hub have been nothing short of miraculous. I wasn't sure she would ever make the progress that she has made in just three weeks. Neuro Hub and CORE have the equipment to assist with every aspect of her recovery and to make it fun. And the best part of the experience was the "Trainers" (therapists) who not only have amazing expertise but also have a "never give up - You've Got This!" attitude. They treat their patients with respect, enthusiasm and profound caring. Words cannot adequately Express our gratitude.
