We ate in the restaurant for lunch. The waitress was attentive and offered suggestions. I had the fried shrimp basket and it was good. We also had the Conch Fritters. They were also good. All food was fresh and hot. We didn't care for the key lime pie, but we are picky on our key lime pie. It was like a thick gelatinous custard. Not what we were expecting. The view was amazing looking out at the marina with the pelicans sunbathing.
Super convenient location for all who use the Marina and especially if you're ending a St. Augustine Boat Tours, tour around lunch time. GREAT views with outdoor seating (FANTASTIC outside in October!), great service and darned good food. Stopping shy of 5 stars only because we are snobby foodies with really high standards in cuisine. But we shared the conch fritters, conch chowder (red - tomato based chowder, more like a stew) and the flounder, coconut style. All were tasty, done just right and enjoyable...just not quite "knock our socks off" great. But, please don't take this the wrong way; as I admitted, we are snobby foodies. It was VERY GOOD and not bank breaking (in these tough economic times). If you are on this side of the island, DO give the Conch House Restaurant a try. They did not disappoint!
Service was fantastic. Food was very good a little pricey for lunch but what do you expect when you can eat right on the water. The shrimp were goo but their is one thing that I had an issue with. This is also the reason I gave them a 4 star. The shrimp were not cleaned to remove the vein which cause a slight taste and the shrimp were a little gritty. Not a huge deal for most but something I like to have cleaned out of my shrimp especially when dining out.
