The museum was closed when we visited but we enjoyed walking the grounds and learning about this historic site. The grounds are beautiful, even on a rainy day, and there are informative plaques that provide a glimpse into the history of the area. It is a history that should not be overlooked and shows the resilience and bravery of those who called this place their own.
We will be back on a day that it is open to check out the museum.
Nice small museum with video and artifacts, and pretty wooden walkway through the wetlands to overlook where the fort used to be. Good treatment of the history and well worth a short visit. Grounds are free. Museum is $2 per person.
So much history is locked in the smallest books of our towns and cities. If we spent as much time looking into our beautiful Country as we did our own selfishness. We would learn a few things. I highly recommend this beautiful 😍 walk in life for those who wish to learn something about true roots of our Floridian heritage 👑🌻🇺🇲🌾🌍🇺🇲
Excellent learning experience. I thouroughly enjoyed my visit. I enjoyed my walk about. I enjoyed meeting new people. I enjoyed my history lesson. I absolutely love these exploration environments of mine. My history lessons are closed me way later than I expected!!! It was wonderful!!!
A great bargain (ample free parking and $2 admission) for a morning or afternoon trip to Florida's, mainly Spanish, history. Fort Mose was a refuge for escaped slaves and displaced indigenous people and the site goes into that moment in some detail. Admission includes a well made 15' movie. Nice Boardwalk into the salt marsh. A real gem.
