I have been with animal medical clinic for 17 plus years. All I can say is that Dr. Russell and his team are fantastic! They are compassionate, knowledgeable, and so helpful in regard to you and your animals. I have recently moved about 20 mi away; however, I will continue to go there when needed. I cannot say more than a big thank you to everyone there and know that this is the best place going anywhere. As my husband used to quote The TV show Mash, "the best care anywhere..."

I brought my dog in earlier this week for his first visit and was very impressed. I have a 100 lb dog that hates shots and they were very gentle with him. They were also very considerate and knowledgeable; and I love that they have an office cat! With the amount of overpopulation among cats, I think it’s incredibly sweet one has a home here and he’s so friendly! 💜

I first met Dr Russell when I adopted a new dog and she suddenly started limping. It turns out she is a drama queen, and was in perfectly good health. Then when my 13 year old Morkie started acting funny, I took him to see the vet. Unfortunately, my Tucker was too sick to be saved and we had to put him down. Dr Russell was not only kind, he was patient while we said goodbye to our boy. He told a story of his own senior dogs trip over the Rainbow Bridge and he empathize with what we were going through. I have had animals all my life and there are not many veterinarians who stand out, but Dr Russell is one of the few and I will never take my pets to anyone else!

I was visiting my family and my dog Harry was very sick and I knew I could not go back to Virginia with him. My family told me that Dr Russell was the best and they trust him thoroughly to be honest with me. I appreciate the compassion shown by Dr Russell and his staff. Losing my Harry was hard enough but his actions provided comfort knowing that he cared.

I could not be more pleased with Dr Russell and his clinic. I agreed to watch my daughter's cat while she was living out of state for a while, but when she returned she would not take Peanut back. My husband and I tried scratching posts, "Purdy Paws," everything - but Peanut just continued to destroy all of my furniture. It was a difficult decision to make, but I finally decided I would find a vet who could perform a laser declaw surgery rather than make her an outside cat. Dr. Russell did an outstanding job! Peanut was simply sleepy (no overt pain) when she first returned home and fully recovered during her one week with the sutures and "halo." She now has no signs or symptoms of any pain - she uses her litter pan, uses her paws to "knead," jumps between surfaces, etc. I love animals, but if it gets to the point of having to have a laser declaw (humans undergo surgeries, after all) and forcing your cat to be an outdoor cat, I highly recommend a laser declaw by Dr. Russell. Our cat is just as happy as she was before the surgery, and she would have been miserable outdoors. In my opinion, laser declaw is sometimes the most humane option and if it you decide it is the best option for you and your cat, I encourage you not allow others to shame you.
