“By far the best Dr. I have ever had. He did my lung surgery and is an exceptionally skilled and practiced surgeon. He is also one of the only surgeons skilled in Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery, (VATS), which was important to me. He is honest without "Candy Coating" the truth. He is compassionate and caring of his patients and has gone far beyond my expectations in ensuring I have a good comfortable recovery. He is patient, takes his time explaining things to you and has been doing this for the past 26 years. In my book, you could not find a better Cardio/Thoracic Surgeon. As a bonus, he works with Dr. Desi, who is also an excellent surgeon. Many times you get them both operating on you at the same time. This was the case with me. The only thing I would downgrade is his staff. They are part of the Florida Hospital system and they are not good at all. They seem to be more interested in being "gatekeepers" applying their supposed "power" over you by filtering your communications to the Doctors. Their PA is terrible. I won't downgrade Dr. Mangonon or Desi for their bad staff as I know they don't have control over who staff's the office.”
